Insider Tip: NDP Preview Saturdays

If your trip falls on one of the Saturdays leading up to National Day, you may still be able to catch the NDP Preview fireworks even without attending the ticketed show. The fireworks take place towards the end of the evening, giving visitors who are not attending the Preview an opportunity to catch part of the spectacle from outside the event grounds.

Staying at Grand Park City Hall gives you another option for enjoying the display without heading into the crowds. Singapore's Night Race 

Every race season, Singapore's downtown core is transformed for the Marina Bay Street Circuit, where Formula 1 cars race through the city after sunset. The circuit winds past some of Singapore's most recognisable landmarks, with the illuminated skyline forming the backdrop as the race unfolds through the heart of Marina Bay. The night-race format has become one of the defining features of the Singapore Grand Prix, while the temporary street circuit presents its own challenges, with tight corners and a demanding layout requiring precision from drivers throughout the race. 

A Festival Beyond the Track

The Singapore Grand Prix turns the circuit into a multi-zone entertainment venue throughout the race weekend. Zone 1, located around the F1 Paddock and Pit Building, features the Wharf Stage and the newer Barge Stage, a waterfront space designed for larger DJ and electronic music performances. Zone 4 covers the Padang and Esplanade area, where the Padang Stage hosts some of the weekend's major headline performances. With entertainment taking place across the Circuit Park, visitors can move between different areas depending on the day's schedule and their ticket access.

Insider Tip: Navigating Track Access

Vehicle lanes around the city are heavily affected by road closures during race weekend, making public transport and walking more practical ways to reach the Circuit Park. Staying at Grand Park City Hall puts guests close to Zone 4, with Gates 3A and 3B at the Padang within roughly a 10-minute walk from the hotel. This is particularly convenient for visitors with Zone 4 access, which includes the Padang Stage and several trackside viewing areas.

For those with access to Zone 1, the hotel is also well positioned for reaching the circuit via the surrounding Civic District. City Hall MRT is about a 3–5 minute walk from the hotel, while Esplanade MRT station is around a 10-minute walk away, providing alternative routes to the Marina Bay side of the Circuit Park. Since Zone 1 and Zone 2 tickets can provide access across the general zones of the Circuit Park, checking your ticket's access zone and preferred gate before setting out can save you an unnecessary walk around the circuit.
