Singapore Art Week: 19-27 January 2019
Home to museums, monuments and rich heritage, Bras Basah and Bugis precinct is one of Singapore’s oldest, and perhaps one of the most vibrant districts. During the Singapore Art Week (SAW), visitors are encouraged to explore, discover and soak in the creative vibes of the area. Here’s an itinerary about what to see, do and eat around Bras Basah & Bugis.

Perhaps you have heard notorious reputations about Sim Lim Square, the city’s ‘tech’ mecca. However, during the SAW, a shop unit is repurposed to an artist studio, offers opportunities to engage with the diverse communities at Sim Lim Square. Open Studios, guided tours, exhibition and artist talks will be held here in the 3-week residency.

For lunch, settle in at the Grand Park City Hall. This 5-star luxury hotel offers classical European favourites with a contemporary touch at its restaurant-bar Tablescape. A fancy meal doesn’t need to burn a hole in your pocket. The restaurant has a 2-course set lunch menu at $32++, perhaps one of the best modern European lunch deals in Singapore.

Take a stroll around the hotel after your lunch. The heritage-inspired building is adorned in Peranakan pattern tiles, arched beams and shuttered windows. We can't think of any other ideal location for your #ootd or #lotd against the backdrop of this brightly lit space with clean lines. Looking for a glorious weekend high-tea fix? Check out here.
